There are things we aren’t suppose to know. This is a hard reality for people in our day to live with. We want to know all. We have no room for mystery. It isn’t practical or knowable.
In Acts 1:7 there is a record of Jesus saying, “It is not for you to know the times or days…” Yet volumes have been written on knowing the time and dates. Living with the unknown is an act of faith. I know just enough to please God. I know he is coming back as he left. And that is all I am privileged to know.
There are many other life experience we just can’t know. The book of Revelation says that Jesus will have a name that no one knows. When one knows another’s name you have a sort of power over them. This statement of guarded knowledge is a statement that Jesus has ultimate power. And it means he will always have the element of mystery to us. We will never know all of him.
