Curiosity and other things

Now that I am a grandfather I look at raising children very differently.

I wish I had been smarter when my kids were growing. Thankfully they have the intelligence and character to live beyond my mentoring deficiencies. My chiefest concern too often was getting them to obey me. Now that i am older I can see I was way off the mark way too often.

I now have three things I would like to tell my kids about raising kids. I have found there are three traits that really make for great and successful lives.

Here are just a sample of three:

1. I would encourage curiosity more in my kids lives.
2. The way to get ahead is to get skills at knowing what the other person wants from you.
3. How to handle money – earn it, give it, invest it.
