People are always inspired by “gifted” people. Sometimes we are in awe of polished talent. It is entirely possible to be inspiring and yet not be respected. I also think that “gifting” is far more practical and effective than those things that make up the elements of being respectable.

Thrift is a great trait that will bring you respect. And duty is far more respectful than following passion. But if you wanted to get the most done I would vote for passion. But if you wanted people’s respect function out of the higher plain of duty.

As a leader I find duty to be a God leveled experience and passion based living kind of a mix.

I’d rather have a parent who related to me as a child out of sincere duty than one who is passionate and fulfilled by raising children. There are just too many things about life that lose their passion. And a respectful person knows how to grab for duty at those times.
