Seth Godin says, “Humans tend to work on a problem until they get a good-enough solution, not a solution that’s right.”
If you haven’t changed your life in a big way recently I guarantee you, you are happy with good-enough. I have a new partner in crime who can not live with good-enough. I love it. I frankly got worn out for a period of time with trying to beat good-enough.
Some have called breaking the good-enough syndrome seeking excellence. That is such a cliche now it means nothing to me personally. I am taking an account though on how many areas I have settled for good-enough.
I think our lives would be far better if more people felt good-enough wasn’t good enough. I think sermons would be more enjoyable. We wouldn’t have to wait for an hour or more to get on a plane late almost every time you fly. My hotdog at Sonics wouldn’t be cold every time I buy one. I would have more of an ownership of large sections of scripture.
Let’s make a pact to throw out good-enough and bring a change so huge in our lives that we find joy in living again.
