I had an intense meeting this morning. We had a hard core look at facts. I have long felt that one of the major roles of a leader is to “contend for reality.” Putting that with vision and stretching people’s faith makes for a razor’s edge walk through life.
I think good leaders gather “facts” people around you. Vision people are important too. But I have noted that leaders tend to draw one viewpoint and neglect the other. Faith is friendly with facts because faith can always change facts but not until it faces them.
Facts are tough things. They don’t budge. They resist defiance. You can look away all you want but when you look back they are still there.
We had to face some facts about some issues at home today too. it was hard. What made it hard was God wouldn’t let us try and change the facts for someone we love.
Again facts are hard things. They stand their ground. They must be faced before faith can move the mountains.
