My feet were swelling a few months ago. My mother convinced me I was probably showing signs of diabetes, a disease that is found in many in my family. The swelling continued so I made an appointment with my doctor.
He studied my blood tests. He said, “Nope, no diabetes here.”
“Hmmm, then what’s happening. Am I getting ready for a stroke?” I asked.
He said, “Have you gotten any new shoes?”
I told him I had. He said, “Let me see how tight your tying them.”
So I did. And a thirty dollar deductible bought me the grand insight that I was tying my shoes too tight!
Churches need to loosen up enough so that there is room for God. That goes for the world of our tiny little hearts as well.
