Amazement is a reaction to life I enjoy. Things often just amaze me. I have been thinking about things that have amazed me that I’d like to master.
- A friend of my can go to the wrong reference in the Bible and still act like it was part of his message. I can’t.
- My mother used to pick up the phone in the middle of yelling at her kids and sound very peaceful and in control. I never mastered the trick.
- My wife can remember every sentence I spoke through our engagement and first year of marriage. I can’t remember a thing, I just nod in agreement.
- I have a friend who can swear in such away you don’t notice. I stay away from that stuff.
- I am amazed at how many school teacher friends have lots of money. It has something to do with discipline, planning and hard work.
- I am amazed at how many books I have to read and soon. I like owning them better than reading them. I just enjoy looking at them mostly.
- I am stunned by how stupid many people can be. If I weren’t a "people" my assessment could be trusted.
- I am amazed at how several of my friends live on ice cream and burgers and look like refugees. I just walk past an ice cream stand and gain five pounds.
- I am amazed by people like Bill Gates when they are both brilliant and philanthropic. We need more of them.
- I am amazed by how much people can really change. It makes me believe.
- I am amazed by the amount of energy positive thinking gives me. I need to make a habit of it.
- I am amazed that every plane I get on gets off of the ground. So far.
